Classic Angler Charity Auction • Jan. 16–22
The Classic Angler Charity Auction was held January 16-22, 2006 to restore
Gulf Coast sport fisheries and fishing facilities devastated
by the 2005 hurricane season.
Octagon, the world’s leader in sports and entertainment
marketing teamed up with eBay, The World's Online Marketplace® and
Bassmaster Classic Champions Davy Hite, Mike Iaconelli, Takahiro
Omori, and Kevin VanDam to raise money for the FishAmerica
Gulf Fund. Items up for bid included a bass boat, a VIP
tackle box, a day on the water, and a year of wearing a corporate
patch from the company of the highest bidder.
The auction raised $880 and an amazing level of interest in
the FishAmerica Gulf Fund. The Gulf Fund has been featured
in more than a dozen print and electronic media outlets that
did not previously cover it. This support increased our
ability to attract donors to the FishAmerica Gulf Fund and
we thank everyone for their support.
