Riverfront Park Wetland and Riparian Restoration Project


Project Location: The Dalles, Oregon

Wasco County Soil & Water Conservation District restored the “natural” portion of the Riverfront Park defined as the area east of the chain link fence at Riverfront Park in The Dalles, Oregon. Restoration consisted of mechanically removing all invasive trees and shrubs in this 40 acre section of the park and restoring it to native vegetation. Sport fish that benefited from this project include Steelhead, Chinook salmon, Sockeye salmon, White sturgeon, American shad, Smallmouth bass, Channel catfish, Walleye, Northern pikeminnow, and Carp.
